| Beautiful Savior
Fair are the meadows, Fairer are the woodlands, Robed in flow'rs of blooming spring; Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer, He makes our sorrowing spirit sing.
Beautiful Savior, Lord of the nations, Son of God and Son of Man! Glory and honor, Praise, adoration, Now and forevermore be thine!
my most favorite hymn in the whole wide world. No one sings it better than Ole Choir.
You'll Find Me (Herbie Washington and Marcus Hanson)
Time has told us a story of love that endures all things, through cheating and pain, thunder and rain, whatever the fates may bring.
There is not a day that goes by, that I don't wish for you and I to be in love for all of time.
I'll be your strength, your strength of the mountains. I'll be your light in the dark. I'll be right here whenever you need me, and you'll find me right here in your heart.
When your path gets lonely, The night falls and shadows surround you, I'll hold you tight all through the night, I'll guide you on your way.
There is not a day that goes by, that I don't wish for you and I to be in love for all of time.
The Limestones are awesome yay Marcus!!!! hee hee! | | |
| I can finally call myself a real Ole. I bought myself a St. Olaf sweatshirt. Alas...it has OLES on the butt...what can I say hee hee. Anyways, finals time...xanga is the best way to procrastinate Not that I'm procrastinating. Why would I do that?! *angel* riiiiiiite. Well, time for Kiyomi to go practic for her jury tomorrow. bye bye...outties!!! see ya!

| SATB part writing is the bomb! hee hee why is it that theory is so awesome? Dunno. I just think it's so cool!! I'm excited for the final. I hope Hodel gives us some cool part writing stuff on the exam. I'm kinda sad that I won't be taking theory next semester...or the one after that. Seeing that I'm not a music major. junkie oh wells. Ear training was poopy anyways. I'll still have a full-filling college career without the music major. So now I have lots of time to take other classes like Asian Cultures and Linear Algebra...fun fun I'm excited about my Linear Algebra class...I love the prof. She's the best. I just found out that I have to buy like 7 or 8 books for my J-term class "Introduction to Japanese Film". Ack!!! There's so much reading. Oh well. It'll be lots of fun. I'm really excited about that class too. There's some people from my Japanese class in the film class and it's gonna be fun, even if it is at EIGHT in the morning.
Now that first semester is over...almost (except for exams)...time to start studying for finals. fun stuff. Orchestra was a total blast. I got to know so many people during tour...dave, dominic, christine, julia, elizabeth, karissa, beth, leah, marcus, justin (and his twin brother chris), lindsay, and so many other people I think it would take me forever to name them all. Basically, I just got a lot closer to everyone in the orchestra so now we're one big happy family so unlike high school. DISCO BUS!!! orchies--we so have to go clubbing sometime!
Calc was a blast with Dr. Cederberg. She's awesome. I'm so glad I got into her Linear Alg class. Ben was the best grader ever So we're all taking calc, but we can't add...isn't that what calculators are for?! hee hee:)
First Year Seminar--Inocence and Experience with Prof Postlethwaite was awesome...despite the fact that it was at 8 am...for an hour and a half. Wow...I can't believe I made it to every single class!! I'm proud of me!!! That class was so awesome. Frued is weird...girls so do not have penis envy...and kids do not want to get with their parents. Due to his extremely corrupt followers I will now NEVER watch the prince put the glass slipper on Cinderella's foot the same again! ewwww!
Piano class was a blast. I never thought I would ever LIKE the piano. But's it's a pretty cool thing to be able to play. I can now fumble my way through pieces...not too hard kine though...then it would just be mush mush. I'm actually semi-decent! wow! so decent that I'm taking piano class AGAIN next semester! hee hee
Japanese was the best. Ito Sensei is so cool. Skits today were fun Jin San--you are way funny. You really did end up "proposing" to Ito sensei haha. Maybe now I can succesfully trick sales people at Alaz into think I'm a REAL Japanese tourist haha...andrew remember the disney store??
ok--last few thoughts of the day compliments of my Music Theory Prof, Marty Hodel.
"I don't care if you like me! All I'm asking you to do is understand me!" "Unresolved leading tones are a moral issue. It's like pulling the plug on a loved one when they are on life support." "Having parallel fifths is like putting a gun to your head and then shooting yourself." "This is the Austrians walking around Vienna...had a little too much to drink"--during an analyzation of an exerpt of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, III mvt "We have to have that spice in our life!"--discussion of nonchord tones "The teacher's manual teaches us how to teach music theory--I never wrote a first inverson triad before this class--haha not true." "the VI chord gives us a breathe of fresh air--Life has its JOYFUL moments"--during a part writing exercise in d minor.

| what exactly do you say when someone asks if you like their REAL mink coat. --not a fan of wearing animals skins...well, leather on my shoes don't really count since I eat the rest of the cow--
